Veterinarians face daily pressure to balance medical best practices with client expectations and financial limitations. This session explores how artificial intelligence can support clinicians in applying spectrum of care principles, making it easier to present multiple viable treatment paths without adding risk or losing clarity. We’ll walk through real case examples where AI tools can save time, reduce cognitive load, and strengthen communication with clients. The focus will be on grounded, practical uses of AI that enhance—not replace—clinical judgment, showing how technology can expand access to care while keeping decision-making squarely in veterinary hands.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Define spectrum of care and explain how AI can help present a range of evidence-based options tailored to client needs.
- Identify practical, case-based examples where AI reduces workload (e.g., client communication, SOAP notes, diagnostic differentials).
- Evaluate how AI can support clarity and confidence in discussing costs, risks, and expectations without increasing liability.
- Apply simple frameworks to safely integrate AI into their clinical workflow in a way that enhances—not replaces—their judgment.
